Custom Pantry Organization Tips

There are many secrets to a great, functional pantry design.

• For canned goods use shelves that are shallow and short so that cans are not required to be stacked and it is easy to find things.
• Space that is otherwise un-usable can have an 8″ or 10″ shelf for cans, jams etc.
• Onions, potatoes and other dry items to well in stainless baskets where they are exposed to air and kept dry should ideally be placed where there is minimal direct sunlight and other heat sources
• Built-in wine racks ensure wine is stored on it’s side and can be positioned in the room to ensure minimal direct sunlight and other heat sources. If the room not ground floor level or hot, it is best to store wine at a low height
• Store most common items at eye level and comfortable reaching
• Rarely used appliances and kitchen items can go in a tall cabinet
• Use a tall shelf and vertical dividers to sort baking sheets, cookie and pizza trays etc.
